Interesting that the one thing that has united the Arkansas Democrat Party and the Arkansas GOP is vowing to fight the judges ruling bringing marriage equality to the state of Arkansas. I find it pathetic and cowardly that they are using the 2008 ban to justify their responses. Hiding behind a law steeped in fear and ignorance means you are part of the problem regardless of what you say with the statement I personally believe. I believe that sometimes the will of the people can be wrong and it takes a leader to charge the course and make bold changes that will further society and benefit generations to come. I wonder if history will repeat itself - remember the Little Rock Nine? The Democrat Governor then, Orval Faubus, defied the Supreme Court and tried to physically block African Americans entering Central High to preventive integration Will current Democrat Governor Beebe take similar extreme measures if he doesnt get his the answer he wants since he believes that not all men or women are created equal - a stance supported by every major elected Democrat in the state including Senator Pryor. As the story unfolds and we wait to see if our Supreme Court will issue a stay we can all celebrate the fact that over 500 gay Arkansans have been married in the last few days - love continues to win and for it we are a better, greater society. #equality
