Interesting the time one will take to preserve the life of a little creature of nature....I was ready to get in the pool today, having fished out assorted bugs, worms, and leaves left over from the several inches of rain over the past few days. I waited all day for the temp of the pool to reach 80 degrees. (Our auto-cover bit the dust a few weeks back, so a new one will be installed Wednesday.) So without the cover, the water has been too cold for me, and a sampling of all natures bug world from Bonita Pointe has been taking a dive in the pool for the past couple weeks. Today...I worked hard to have a clean pool, water is back to 80, sun shining. I open the cover to clean out the skimmer basket that catches a lot of pool stuff, and I see a small to medium size frog swimming for his life in there. Poor thing. Round and round he goes. So I get a container, dip him out, and reassure him that all will soon be well. A little walk down the back yard...froggy is clinging to the side of the can for dear life...and I gently let him go on the bank of the lake. Off he swims, happy frog legs going as fast as they can. Why does that touch my heart so?
