Interesting thoughts... I was impressed by the miles and miles of cornfields along the highways in Indiana & Illinois. I also saw several Monsanto operations. I have friends that HATE Monsanto, but their research and work have increased corn productivity, much of the corn crop is used to produce ethanol to add to our gasoline. It is mandated by the EPA that gasoline contain ethanol, which actually causes lower MPG. Since so much of this corn is used for fuel and NOT feed for farm animals, it has resulted in increased demand and resulting higher prices in the grocery store.
