International Journal of Signs and Semiotic Systems Call for Papers: Special Issue “Semiotics and linguistics” Spring 2014 (Deadline for submission December 1st 2013) We invite submissions that address the following sub-topics but authors who wish to submit papers on related topics of likely interest are also welcome. The aim is to provide the reader with a comprehensive and up-to-date account of the intimate relationship between shared meanings, natural language and semantic spaces, including the added value and insight derived from the various semiotic traditions, most notably those of Saussure, Peirce, and Morris. Submissions should demonstrate a new contribution to knowledge and both short position style papers (typically 1500-2000 words in length) will be considered as well as longer Journal papers for inclusion in the special issue. Suggested themes: 1)Ontologies and Semiotics 2) Quantum minds: implications for semiotic accounts of cognition 3) From Semantic Web to Semiotic Web 4) Discourse Analysis 5) Language Action Perspective 6) Cross cultural aspects: incommensurability, software localization and internationalization 7) The Languages of the Web: semiotics of the web 8) Sentiment analysis 9) Persuasion (Rhetoric) and anticipation 10) Organisational Semiotics All submissions should be sent in two versions to The Editor in Chief Dr Tim French at [email protected] who will arrange for submissions to be uploaded to the IGI IJSSS on-line submission system such that submissions can be double blind reviewed anonymously. Please therefore be sure to remove obvious means of identifying the authors from your submission and submit author details separately by e-mail. All papers should follow the IGI Journal template style. It is considered vital that members of the IJSSS Editorial Board encourage submissions by themselves and/or their research groups.
