International Verses for Biko and Tosh is an annual event organised by SPOT – Slam Poetry Operations Team and it is held in September to commemorate the physical deaths of two revolutionaries; Stephen Bantubonke Biko (Steve Biko) and Hubert Winston McIntosh (Peter Tosh). Biko and Tosh were assassinated on the 12th and 11th September respectively! SPOT strongly believes that these revolutionaries and cultural milestones deserve to be known and acknowledged for their struggle against all forms of injustice, oppression and exploitation. The event features a guest speaker knowledgeable in BLACK CONSCIOUSNESS as a philosophy and as a Lived experience. There will be Poetry Recital, Live Music and dialogue R40 gets you in the door BIKO Lives, TOSH Never say die!!!
