International cooking evening! Traditionally, like every year, the students from Croatia, Turkey and Portugal who came to study in Malopolska School of Economics (MWSE) within the Erasmus + program, could enjoy traditional Polish dishes prepared by MWSE students and Ms Anna Mikos, MA. Apart from foreign guests of honour, the meeting was also attended by Ms Zofia Kozioł MA – the MWSE Chancellor and the Vice-Chancellor Ms Renata Mielak, MA. The other MWSE employees, who conduct classes with students from abroad in English, also took part in the meeting. Tasting started with the traditional Polish broth, then a variety of soups such as a cucumber soup, a bean soup (made according to the original recipe of Tourism and Recreation students and at the same time Erasmus scholars, who came to the Cooking Evening from Nowy Sącz), and traditional Polish „żurek” were served. The menu also contained dumplings with cheese and cottage cheese called in Poland „pierogi ruskie”. In addition to the traditional dishes the table was also full of different vegetable salads and tartar sauce. For dessert delicious cakes: cheesecake, apple pie and chocolate cake were prepared by the students aspiring to the Erasmus Student Network – ESN. - Such international meetings give foreign students the opportunity to learn about the Polish traditional cuisine and especially help the integration of students and lecturers from MWSE. Time spent together in the charming setting of the restaurant room interior with an amazing atmosphere only adds to delicious dishes. We all had a wonderful evening. I would like to thank the administrative staff, my colleagues and the students involved for their help and commitment. I know, I can always count on you. Thank you very much. Foreign students were truly surprised by the organization and the amount of the dishes served. Different topics were discussed during the meeting. Among others were the differences and similarities in the way of studying in different countries, different cultures, but most of all the benefits for the students of Erasmus program. Nevertheless, the most important thing is that we all felt one group. It’s important that we were able to integrate MWSE students with the students from abroad. Soon the roles will swap and foreign students will prepare their meals for us. Feel invited.
