Internship Opportunity!!!!! Eyedrum Art and Music Gallery presents new artwork in all media and all forms, with an emphasis on the experimental. Founded in 1998, Eyedrum provides a venue for touring and local musicians, performance artists, artists who work in visual media, writers, and curators, hosting more than one hundred performances and exhibitions annually. Eyedrum has very recently re-located into a historic building seven blocks from the GSU campus and is renovating the building while continuing a full schedule of programming. We currently have an internship opportunity for an individual to document events and processes on video. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong interest in the arts, be flexible and open-minded, have experience shooting and editing video, and be willing to work evenings and weekends. Candidate will interact with the 13-member board of directors Specific responsibilities include: Documenting concerts, art openings, public art events, interviews, progress of our facilities renovation, and performances; editing original and archival footage into video pieces of varying lengths for presentation to funders; helping to establish as system of archiving and logging video. This is an unpaid internship. Eyedrum staff will provide supervision and evaluation for college credit, if desired. At the end of the internship, Eyedrum will host a one-night showcase to exhibit work completed during the semester and other video, music, performance, or visual art of the interns choosing. Hours are flexible but we would anticipate two to four shooting hours per week, editing time on your own, and weekly consultation with staff to schedule documenting upcoming events and assess progress of projects.
