Inventory Controller - Kya-Sands Salary: R15 - R20 K CTC benefits included in CTC (Medical Aid & Provident Fund) The Inventory controller will increase company profitability by maintaining accurate inventory levels. The Inventory controller is responsible for the safekeeping of the company’s assets, ensuring stock level accuracies inside the physical stores whilst maintaining a good housekeeping. He is responsible to ensure that materials and equipment is available at the right time at the right quantity for the work on hand. REQUIREMENTS: • Ability to be pro-active with a sense of urgency; • Be a self-starter, a highly motivated person able to work in a fast paced environment that is continually changing. • Report writing skills • Min. Grade 12 • Min. 4 years of stock control experience • Problem solving and analytical skills • Superior organisation skills – hands on • Working without supervision Accuracy and attention to detail • Ability to perform math (basic algebra, compute rate, ratio etc.) • Technically minded, ability to effectively resolve problems • Ability to read drawings and take measurements against drawings when checking goods received and good dispatched • Computer literacy: knowledge of work-processing, and spread sheet applications required, Microsoft Office, • Excellent oral and written communication skills required with the ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organisation • Strong organisation, time management skills • Works well with people • Honest person with a strong sense of responsibility • Ability to perform under pressure KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Controlling, storing and distributing the organization’s production material and maintenance spares as well as the issuing of items to production daily • Ensuring the security and safety of the inventory as well as maintaining communication between your store and places like Production, Engineering / Maintenance, Quality Control, Purchasing and Sales • Taking and receiving stock and advising all interested parties of the arrival of said stock • Checking all incoming goods against the purchase order. If everything was in order, you would then hand over all relevant documentation to the purchase department • Completing damage or loss reports • Non Conformance reports in terms of reissues to production and/or assembly • Checking received items / quality, quantity against P/O’s and returning defective stock notifying the purchase department • Mark and Label any unidentified parts in the store • Keep the store tidy • Implement stock control / bin system • Ensure that Out of stock situation does never happen • Ensure that no overstock situation occurs • Issue all the components to the factory from Works Orders and Picking Lists without delays once subassemblies are completed • Store consumables and minor assets for safekeeping • Ensure min. / max. stock levels are correct • Issue tools to production as well as site • Issue Project related raw materials to WIP in production ensure that all stock issues are accompanied by relevant paper trail • Investigate stock inaccuracy • Daily stock cycle count taken to check that levels on the computer agree • Assist with stock takes and prepare all bins for stock take • Eliminate all forms of waste in the operations department • Continuous improvements • Maintain good standard of housekeeping / safety in the operations department
