And what was there? Her fair Irish skin Pulled out a pencil, stabbed out the pain Now she’s crying, so ashamed Her fair Irish skin Fast forward to the night she told about Her fair Irish skin “I have to tell” is what she said, she didn’t put up a fight Little does she know, she may have saved her life Her fair Irish skin She waited for that pass to come She held it in her hands, grasping with Her fair Irish skin Shortly after, moment came “you know why you’re here” She took a breath, she whispered “yes” Her fair Irish skin She shows her arms, she shows remorse She makes that call, her voice now hoarse “I love you mom,PLEASE know I do,I’m gunna get the help I need” She cried into the phone A tear rolled down her fair Irish skin A few years pass she’s put on meds and talks about “control” But things get rough, she hates herself She can not hide the marks On her fair Irish skin She needs to find an outlet, she hears it everyday So she began to write everything away She was forgetting about her fair Irish skin day by day Flashforward, present Summer, she got some terrible news It hurt like hell,it’s true Temptation was a burden, but there was one thing she wouldn’t do This time she wouldn’t give in She cried, she screamed, she swore out loud But she did not mark her skin It’s long over now, she’s two months clean She sits quietly and types She looks down and she smiles Pride now replaces shame She looks back and remembers That journey, Her fair Irish skin
