Is Hijab optional? Hijab is as much optional as your Salah - TopicsExpress

Is Hijab optional? Hijab is as much optional as your Salah might be. If you can say, I dont feel like offering Salah, then you can quite rightfully say, I dont feel like wearing Hijab. If you say, My husband or my family stops me from wearing Hijab, what would you do when they stop you from offering Salah? Will you still listen to them or live with them? Or listen to what Allah says? Where does Allah say in the Quran to wear hijab? [This is] a surah which We have sent down and made [that within it] obligatory and revealed therein verses of clear evidence that you might remember. [24:1] This is the first ayah of this Surah and the discussion that follows is all about Hijab, haya, chastity and modesty. This is a command from Allah subhanahu wa taala because He says We have sent down and made obligatory... and is NOT a fatwa by a scholar that we would reject. How should a woman be when she steps out from home? 1. No hair showing. 2. No makeup. 3. No fitted or see-through clothing (this includes tights and churidar pajamas especially with long slits, georgette or chiffon sleeves or dupattas) 4. No attractive clothing (dress up for your husband only or for yourself *inside home*). 5. No perfume (that is hidden zina) 6. No sound of the shoe (heels that tap, dragging flats such that they make sound, wearing anklets) 7. Her bossoms should be properly covered. (meaning her outer garment should be long enough, having dupatta wrapped around neck is not allowed) 7. A woman is only allowed to leave her house when there is a need such as medical check-up, education, attending to parents, etc. spending hours and money in the name of retail therapies and socialization is not to be encouraged. The same amount of money and time can be spend in earning Jannah (such as sadaqaat and worship). Earning bread is mans responsibility therefore job is not an excuse. For detailed explanation read or listen to the tafseer of Surah an-Nur.
