Is My Horse Ticklish Or In Pain? When doing an assessment and your horse reacts to certain spots, do not ignore it. The horse is reacting because it is having a pain reflex. Many think that the spots the horse is reacting to is because its ticklish or itchy, but thats not the case. Horses are not ticklish, so when they react its because they are in pain, they are having what we call a pain reaction.
