Is it any wonder that our youth feel so disenfranchised with their mosques and Muslim community leaders, when our institutions are basically no go zones to speak about international affairs, except when it comes to ISIS? I have seen so many videos of jummah khutbahs around the country specifically on this topic - which is not a bad thing - but when it exists in a vacuum of absolutely zero education on what is taking place in the rest of the Muslim world, then all you do is to make the youth feel disempowered It is time to wake up and realise that we need to educate our youth not just to please those external to our institutions, but to actually teach them and make them feel that their concerns and anxieties are being addressed.
