Is it over yet? (Heck, no, its only 5:00 in California!) Can I post my project?! This is my first time participating in a virtual quilt retreat and its been lots of fun -- working on my project, checking what everyone else was working on -- just like a real retreat! So heres my project. As Ive mentioned several times, this is a wall hanging called Katies Summer that I started in a class I took with Pat a couple weeks ago at Maine Quilts. I was so excited to meet Pat and really enjoyed her tips, tricks, and techniques. I also took a free motion quilting class with Sue Nickles. Id tried FMQ before but was totally intimidated by it -- Sue took away my inhibitions and gave me the confidence to try it one more time. Im pretty happy with what I did on this wall hanging. I wanted to do something fancy in the outer border but after all of the inner designs and the background stippling I was ready to be done. Now its time for the much-needed and -appreciated input -- which fabric should I use for the binding? The top one is a white with little flowers, the middle is a dark blue mottle, the bottom is the plaid used in the basket, I would to it on the bias. Thanks for letting me come to your retreat -- it was loads of fun!
