Is it possible to know when a dog or cat will be abandoned? Could predict, guess or simply calculate, without much room for error, what pet adopted or purchased today will be abandoned tomorrow ...? I think so. There is an association in the US dedicated to the protection, preservation and study of a bulb in a known firehouse. I guess that sounds so weird, right? The bulb in question, carried on for 24 hours a day, every day of the year since 1901. That is, 113 years that looks like the first day ago. Currently, he is the oldest light bulb in the world, followed by a fixture in Texas in 1908 and another that looks in New York since 1912. All share the same secret in their manufacture. Their resistance is explained, first, because they all have some rather thicker than a standard bulb filaments and, secondly, because these are carbon. The question is: if it is known that these are the features that make the bulbs are lasting till eternity, why not manufactured more like them? Im afraid the answer is as simple as sad. I do not know if theyve ever heard of planned obsolescence. The truth is that the word itself, and pulls back but even more, what it means. These agreements, the most secret, established between the different companies that share a sector in order to manufacture products which, inevitably, will spoil after a fixed time. That and no other, was the case of the bulbs. In 1924 the big industry players agreed to lower the quality of their products and provide them with a shorter life. It seems they thought durables manufacturing would gain enough money and not only came to that covenant, but even decided to impose fines on companies that do not comply. No sooner said than done. If you notice, all the bulbs that I have mentioned before and still light the world since early last century, were manufactured prior to sealing deal. And do not think they were probably the first but not the last. From then until now most companies have followed these criteria and the consumer market knows that this principle is today indispensable. What matters is not the quality of the product but the rotation and consumption ... Sometimes I think that, in the same way, happens to animals. Obviously, in the latter case no prior agreement or covenant set but, every day, I realize that many of adoptions or procurement of animals also have their obsolescence program. And I assure you it will not be the dog or the cat fails. No one will come with factory defect, no. Will be those who choose to incorporate them into their homes as pets which in some cases unwittingly and, in others, not that it matters least they will determine the future of these, which condemn, ultimately, be abandoned animals. I will give only a few hints ... These are people who often seek in them a last minute gift. That lacked detail and undoubtedly fill a small puppy. At this time usually turn to animal shelters or go to stores or seek free newspaper ads ... Your goal is to get a dog or cat to be possibly -free that can give this holiday season. They never think of the next fifteen or sixteen that the animal will live. Do not imagine that every one of those days that make up the rest of the life of that animal, be as important as that in which it gives ... And so these holidays as previous years, will be purchased or adopted many animals that become gifts hours later. Many of these come to homes and stay in them forever. Pets ones will give their life and heart to their new families. Happy Dogs and cats will become best friends of their owners. But many others, unfortunately, eventually forming part of the black dropout statistics in this country. Gifts of animals with default obsolescence that will last in your new family that may take time to get tired of them. The latter I can only apologize.
