Is the meaning of the Second Amendment really debatable? Lets look at it: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. Now lets change the words a little: A well educated voter, being necessary to the advancement of a democracy, the right of the people to keep and read books, shall not be infringed. Does this phrase imply that only someone who votes has a right to keep and read books? No, it does not. Both sentences clearly refer to the people.
