Is there a coloration between a leader coming from an inferior - TopicsExpress

Is there a coloration between a leader coming from an inferior background and what he does while in power? Do you think Hitler, Saddam Hussein, Obote, Amin and Museveni would have been better leaders and more tolerant if they did not come from inferior backgrounds? I have learnt one lesson from the inferior debate: That certainly the whites are not inferior. Figure this out: Five decades since they left Ugandans to govern themselves, they can still be furiously locked in debate over which tribe was good or bad 100 years ago! Look at Europe - they were killing one another upto 1945. They committed genocide against groups etc. But once they established a new order, they got down to business and the past was left to academics. Less than a decade later, French and German were working together to establish a better Europe. Fifty years later, former adversaries had not only become friends, they were in advanced stages of becoming one nation. Already they had a parliament, an economy and today they have one currency. As for Ugandans, they have not even agreed whether stealing is good or bad. If a president steals billions, its justifiable if he is from your tribe. Meanwhile, in our great intelligence as a nation, we allow mediocres and criminals to mess up the internet national backbone even before it is built so that our children remain condemned to less access to info than the rest of the world. We allow daylight robbery as long as those committing it are from our tribe. And the enlightened Ugandans, the ones who are well exposed because they live abroad where broadband and digital economy is daily routine stuff, are more concerned with which tribe did what 100 years ago. Meanwhile, an average Ugandan is living on less than a dollar a day, cant get basic medical care... I do not understand how anybody from Uganda can even start talking about being superior to anybody, maybe to wild animals. So in my conclusion, I am only sure of one thing: Europeans are not inferior to Ugandans. But I dont understand how Ugandans who live in Europe and North America cannot even start acquiring some new values, however long they live there. That is all I gathered from the debate. The rest to me is irrelevant. Leonard Chama - Kampala afandechama@gmail
