Is your company a “for profit” business? Has your company been in business for at least one year? Is your company owned and/or controlled by a minority or a person of social disadvantage? We Have A Session Just For You! Acquiring Opportunities to Sell to Government and the Private Sector An introductory session by the Ohio Department of Administrative Services (DAS) and Equal Opportunity Division will present opportunities to compete in procurement bids with the state gov-ernment available through the MBE-EDGE program. The MBE-EDGE program implements the State of Ohio’s minority business set-aside program, assists state agencies with the selection of set aside contracts, maintains a list of certified minority business enterprises, monitors program compli-ance [and conducts research]. The MBE-EDGE program works alongside the Minority Business Assistance Centers (MBAC) which provides a variety of services for business development to amateur and existing business owners and provides minority firms with some of the following services at each center: accounting assistance, business management counseling, complete federal, state and local certification applications, contract procurement assistance and obtaining referrals to financial assistance programs. The overview will be followed by an expert panel representing the private sector to discuss procure-ment prospects and guide participants on how to bid and be competitive for those prospects.
