Isaiah 40:3-8 Listen! I hear the voice of someone shouting, Make a highway for the LORD through the wilderness. Make a straight, smooth road through the desert for our God. 4 Fill the valleys and level the hills. Straighten out the curves and smooth off the rough spots. 5 Then the glory of the LORD will be revealed, and all people will see it together. The LORD has spoken! 6 A voice said, Shout!I asked, What should I shout?Shout that people are like the grass that dies away. Their beauty fades as quickly as the beauty of flowers in a field. 7 The grass withers, and the flowers fade beneath the breath of the LORD. And so it is with people. 8 The grass withers, and the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever. 40:3-8, A voice of One calling; There are several thoughts on these verses; 1. Is thought to be about the Jews returning and receiving restoration to their Homeland. 2. Is the coming of Jesus the Christ and the Salvation He would bring in a New Heaven and a New earth as seen in Revelation 21-22. 3. Is John the Baptist who went before Jesus and laid the way. John made it clear that that a complete change of Heart through repentance and a new direction was a narrow path. 40:5, The Jews would see the Greatness of the Lord after being freed from Babylonian captivity. But that He would reveal even Greater Power through Jesus the Christ, Hebrews 1:3. Jesus would free people from sin and Bridge the Gap for Israel to see, even if they don’t. 40:8, That everything created is frail and will come to an end and only God’s word would endure forever………Bones in CHRIST…!!!! PS…There are a lot of us in these scriptures today. We are no different than Israel, we get going good and then we forget where God has brought us from. If we could have done this on our own we would not stood and shouted out for our God to Please Hear Us either……..BIC…!!!!
