More than 5.6 million tons of it, actually. Thats how much is made each year in the U.S. And the question is, what do we do with all this poo? Farmers use it for fertilizer, but leaching and run-off make it risky for water supplies. Its also fed to cattle, and besides the yuck! factor, concerns about introducing disease into the food chain make that undesirable as well...
