Isnt it amazing how hearing a song can take you back? B of A is running some TV ad using Shambala from Three Dog Night. When that album came out in 73, my siblings Mike and Diana, and Mom and Dad were visiting our Aunt Ann at her old beach house in Bethany Beach, Delaware. I had just been given a Mayfair cassette recorder for my 12th birthday, and a copy of 3DNs Cyan tape...they were my prize possessions at that time. Took it to the beach, listened again and again. We had such fun. The old beach house is long gone...now a strip mall, but Ill always remember those great trips to the shore. The front porch with a basket filled with old Readers Digests that youd read when the rainstorms would hit...and that slightly musty smell every house around the ocean retains.
