Isnt it tragic that sometimes, like Josephs brothers, we become envious of people because something good has come their way? Sometimes, another mans good news becomes our platform for envy, jealousy and bitterness. Sometimes, instead of rejoicing on account of their testimonies and good fortune, we become needlessly envious and jealous. Friends, God says, Put away jealousy and envy. It doesnt do you any good to be angry at someone elses happiness. It doesnt do you any good to be sad at another mans good fortune. THE MERE FACT THAT YOU ARE ANGRY AT SOMEONE ELSES GOOD FORTUNE WONT MAKE IT GO AWAY; EVEN IF YOU REFUSE TO CELEBRATE SUCCESS, IT WONT CHANGE TO FAILURE. Galatians 5: 21 offers an advice against envy, it says ...they which do such things shall not inherit the Kingdom of God. Envy wont prosper you here on earth, and it certainly wont take you to heaven. Those who know how to sincerely celebrate the success of others have permanently shut the door against envy. Envy corrupts the mind, inspires unnecessary hate and breeds wickedness. Pray with me,Lord, I discard the spirit of envy; I will not be envious and jealous of another mans success in Jesus name.
