Issue 2014/1 September 2013 Welcome Welcome to our first newsletter for the 2014 event. 2014 Event As previously advised the 2014 event will be on Sunday 25 May, NOT Queens Birthday Weekend. This is because of the tides not being suitable for our usual date. Book the date in your calendars now. We will advise you when entries open. We are again looking at some minor changes and new challenges to the course to keep it interesting for you all. With the support of the Taranaki Electricity Trust and Sport Taranaki we have again secured the TSB Super Screen for the event. The major benefactor of the funds raised this year will be Surf Lifesaving Taranaki. They have been the ones offering support to our competitors in the river crossing in the first two years, and will be there again this year.
