It appears as if the main line from this storm is swinging through Acadiana currently (1:10 pm Wednesday) which is a little quicker then we had originally thought, but it means it will clear out quicker. I expect by dinner time tonight everything will start to settle down. The elevated risk for severe weather will continue for another couple of hours, but cooler air is already starting to pool into the NW corner of the state. The strong storms we had this morning helped use up some of the energy available so with the exception of the Severe Thunderstorm on going in central Acadiana until 1:45 pm, it should be mostly heavy rain with the occasional clap of thunder. Main concern with the storms weve seen so far today has been strong winds, and hail. Storms so far today have been moving incredibly quickly. Clearing will begin in the west and once that first blast of cooler air comes in we should start to clear out quickly.
