It appears that we will be waiting longer than expected for the post office to reopen fully in Lanark, following the current owner severing ties with the franchise. Whilst we understand the pressure he must have been under during this time, it is unacceptable that such a big town as Lanark is without the facility to send a parcel! Surely the Post Office should be making it a priority to reinstate a full service as a matter of urgency. Too many businesses in the town are suffering, not to mention the pensioners and holiday makers in need of a passport. Once again, our Royal Burgh is being treated like a third world society by the authorities.
