It has always been this way. And it will never stop. Until we unequivocally stop them. Every police department should take exams, to replace the departments they currently have. The current police should apply, but be given no preference. Internal affairs should be discontinued. And external committees should investigate police. I do not think police need a collage degree. They should not be afraid to be held accountable. Lets have a well paid, well performing, police department. Respected by all. The completely dishonest blue line should disappear. Officers in the performance of their duties, will not always get it right. They are, after all human beings. There actions should be given wide latitude. We do not want to handcuff, the police, else they would not be able to adequately do their jobs. Nor do we want police to act like solders. I think a very large portion of citizens, are more afraid of police, than criminals. When a police officer, sees another police officer acting in a manner in which, they would be disposed to arrest a normal citizen, doing the same thing. That officer should be arrested, immediately. They are not above the law. They should exemplify, what is good, and legal. In the end. More citizens, would have, an overall respect for the police, and want to support them in there efforts, to protect all of us from the criminal element. It is my belief that a great majority of police, already have these, good attributes. This is not a rant on the police. It is a rant on the system, that condones, criminal and corrupt officers to be protected. Lets have a nation protected by, a great police force that want to protect and serve, all of us. We should observe police actions, but not micro manage. Remembering they often, are sent into situations, that present a great personal danger to them. There is a great difference between, an officer making a mistake, an an officer being criminal. I hope we can join together, and protect, our police. And I hope police can protect, and serve us, but not at the expense, of presenting an additional danger to themselves.
