It has been a week with significant community tension as the Australian government raised terrorism alert levels to high, the largest ever police raids on alleged terrorist networks were made across Sydney, and threats of violence against Christian churches and schools made the headlines. Although as a Christian I disagree with most of what Islam teaches and represents, I want to strongly reinforce that those who claim to be Christians must not be part of personal attacks on Muslims verbally, physically or online. Instead, keep praying for the safety, security and wellbeing of ALL members of our community, and model the kind of love for each other that Jesus Christ demonstrated.
