It has been brought to my attention several times in the last 7days, that the local Labour/NO thanks councillor has been going around our area threatening recovering heroin addicts that if they vote YES they will lose their methadone and their benefits. Now many of you may not have the highest opinion of drug users/recovering addicts but at the end of the day, regardless of their choices, they are human beings whove fallen on hard times. Without support, they would have no choice but to turn to crime...meaning everyone in their neighbourhood would suffer. I know that the NO camp are sinking to the depths of desperation..and this is just another sick example of their cowardice...but what truly rips ma knittin is that this particular person is local, knows all the people personally that she is telling this to and KNOWS these people have NO support if benefits/methadone is taken away. So the reason I shared my rant is because Im hoping that any YESSERS who know people in similar life situations will double check to make sure the same despicable lies are not being spread in your areas (y) Independence is about social justice...for EVERYONE!!!
