It is 6 AM in Jerusalem - I have my days and nights a little confused but did manage to get in a couple hours sleep last night. This does give me time though to write and tell you of some of the few but already moving moments I have had. Although some people told me I was crazy for coming to Israel during these times, when is it not these times. I was blessed to have this opportunity to be here with like minded people, most of whom I have never met before to not only have a religious experience but also an educational one. Sometimes I need only read our local paper to feel like we have these times at home. Granted it is different but they are struggles just the same. This is a chance not just to be a tourist but to meet real families and real leaders. A chance to talk with them one on one and here their stories. Yes, it will be much different than our stories but the common denominator is people, human life, love and caring. In the end it comes down to wanting what os best for our people and our families. I ask that you pray for me and our group as we make this journey this week.
