It is absolutely heart wrenching the number of lives lost to addiction every day. Most people fail to understand that this is a disease killing your children, our future children, and our childrens children. People look down on addicts as if they are unworthy of life, but have we stopped to think what started the addiction in the first place? What led to that first try? Problems at home? Peer pressure? Depression? We need to wake up, stop glamorizing drug use, and start loving on those who are lost in this disease. Please take special note of the new(er) law that allows you to get help for someone who has overdosed withOUT being incriminated! This law alone could save hundreds of lives. For anyone battling addiction right now reading this, you ARE a lovable person. You are more than the sum of your past mistakes. You are worth the fight through recovery, but you cant do this alone. If you need help, reach out. Youre definitely not alone. How many more loved ones have to die before we realize the total destruction of this disease?
