It is hard to believe that the college fall football camps are opening up across the country in just a few days. College football season starts less than 32 days. No matter what team you root for or conference you are affiliated with, you will want to be prepared to tailgate in your RV. If you are going RV tailgating, you will be joining thousands of fans who enjoy the festive atmosphere while partying with fellow parking lot attendants. While tailgating, take in consideration some of the tips that many other tailgaters have suggested to make your college game day and tailgating experience a huge success. Think food first. For the most part, all you need is to pack up the grill or smoker. After all, tailgating is all about the food. That and having fun with your new gadgets and gizmos that take the tailgating experience to a new level. Remember tailgating is an all-day event so your party menu should cover the full day from breakfast through midnight snacks. Get there early to secure a spot. Look for a prime spot near the end of the row to have space to open your awning and set up chairs. (Note: You should call in advance to confirm whether a special parking permit is required for your RV.) Have lots of water. Drinking water will help you and your friends stay hydrated to last till the end of the fourth quarter. If you are the driver, don’t over indulge. Driving your RV after the game impaired is not a good idea! Meet your neighbors. Tailgating environments are like a great American neighborhood, where you can walk through “backyards” of fellow fans without privacy fences. Have extra food on hand, be a friendly neighbor, be respectful to opposing fans and have a good time. You may meet some new friends or pick up some great RV tips. Make sure you decorate your RV appropriately, because you don’t want anyone to be confused about which team you are supporting, or where your loyalties lie. It is a good idea to bring lots of colorful balloons and banners to run the entire length of your RV. Have a great time. GO TEAM!
