It is interesting how we hear people talking about false prophets, but we yet have heard of how they are false. Many give scripture verses to show & teach us who is who. Well, I am about to lay out a few key signs on how to identify them along with how to identify who is real. Prophetic ministry is and remains a mystery to many. As I have spoken before in the past, I will speak out and make all attempts to clear the fog of this mystery and make known the truth to all who hear. Signs of a merchandising prophet - 1. They require a donation of X amount before you receive anything from them. I have seen many prophetic ministries start out free, just to turn around later and charge the people. Half of them will not even look your way unless they see you have donated. A real prophet knows what they have been sent here for, and that is to serve, and offer themselves up as charity to the people. People do not always have money, a false prophet will forsake your request. A real prophet will answer your request as unto serving God with you benefiting, with no expectations of you giving. A real prophet will let God move your heart to give and will not manipulate or persuade you with their words in order to get you to give money. 2. Obey the prophet of God, too many prophets now a days are abusing what it speaks in the old testament. ( Funny how those prophets of the new covenant are not under the law, but will sure bring up the law to benefit their pockets!) They will say, You sow X amount and I will pray, decree, declare this after I see your donation. This is like saying you can buy your way into heaven. YOU CANNOT BUY YOUR WAY INTO HEAVEN! Brethren we have got to receive salvation through Jesus, He is the only way. We cannot buy Jesus, He paid for us! When God decides to move on your behalf to answer your need, all you will have to have is your faith, not your wallet. When you pay a prophet to do this for you, you are paying a witch to cast a spell to rid you of your current problem. But in all actuality, you are opening up demonic doors for MORE problems. IDENTIFY! A real prophet will serve you without expectations of you giving. If you do not obey, you will soon find out either through chastisement of disobedience or strong confirmation of the prophecy spoken. Not through your lack of paying monies. A true prophets instruction rarely involves you spending money. 3. A prophet asks you for money - In scripture, it speaks that the righteous will never beg. The reason why the righteous do not beg is because when they have need, they pray and ask their true provider, God. Then God moves the hearts of the people, open the right doors, makes a way out of no way to get you what you need for His will over your life. If you see a prophet asking you for money, let this be a sign to you that this so - called prophet still has some wilderness to travel through in order to understand that all we will ever need is God. Do not fall for any guilt trips from a prophet. A real prophet knows who provides their needs and will ask for prayer versus money. Bottom line- Pray is free, prophecy SHOULD be free, salvation is free! As I go along I will voice more on this topic, since I have been raised up by God to step on all the toes of a false prophet.
