It is mildly bothersome to me to observe how our people, including the elders,abuse their diet by consuming fast food and produce that has been laced with hormones and chemicals and changes to their basic natural DNA. I have posted a couple of items describing an ear of corn induced by genetic modification to not even as nutritious as the natural product. No one seemed concerned.At lunch at the Seniors in Lapwai seedless watermelon was served and no one except me refused to eat it. In WA last year there was an iniitiative for the peopple to consider to require produce and canned and frozen products to be labeled as genetically modified. BIG FOOD and Monsanto bought the advertisement to defeat the initiative. They do not want you to be able to know if the food you buy is a GMO instead of natural food. Several years ago a visual was disseminated of margarine and fries and a burger of a fast food service sitting unattended for days and even longer with no insects hungry enough to eat them. No flies! The Corporations and Industries have great power in the Congress. The bottom line is profit. FDA is an empty shell as ab agency to ensure safe foods for the masses. We all like watermelon, some don;t like the seeds. Buy organic. Seedless melons have been genetically modified. Buy organic!
