It is morning here in Geneva. Late last night, my family contacted me to let me know of the passing of my Aunty Florence Buffalo, my Moms sister. I think I am still really in shock. My Aunty always supported and loved me unconditionally, was free with her hugs and kisses, and it is hard to think I will not get another hug and kiss. I laid awake in my little hotel room thinking about the last time I saw her, at a meeting in Edmonton. I thought about how she wanted the best for all of her family. I thought about her being with Uncle Frank now. I thought about how, on the plane ride to Europe, I had looked out into the night sky and watched an amazing view of the stars, brighter than I have ever seen before, slowly pass my window above the clouds. I wondered which moment of her journey coincided with that starry night sky. Sending love and prayers to my family and the whole Buffalo family at this difficult time. I will try and get home as soon as I can.
