It is no longer news that a minister of the Fed Republic of Nigeria is alleged to have offer a bribe(on behalf of Dangote Cement, Zimbabwe) to a Zimbabwean minister so as to allow Dangote break the countrys labour laws. But my take is on d accusation by d Dangote Cement that d said minister paid 4 unscheduled visits to d factory in Zimbabwe. This is a concern for d welfare of d people. Also, bcos d minister does not trust Dangote would comply with d labour law(no casual labourers are allowed in Zimbabwe unlike Nig where anything goes) My question is, since d establishment of d labour ministry in Nig, how many of our ministers(past or present) has shown this high level of concern for d Nig workers by paying unschedule visit to any of d major companies in Nig to ascertain how d Nig workers are been treated, even by d Indians, and Labanese ? We have beautiful labour laws but no enforcement. God bless Nigeria!
