It is no secret that BIG FOOD is interested in PROFIT above everything including public safety. It is clear whenever you walk through the supermarket and see the 60,000 + food like items on the shelves, 70% of which are ladened with sugar, GMOs and artificial colors. This runaway train of obesity and childhood illness is plaguing this generation of children and the FDA, USDA and other governing bodies are not protecting human interest. Their goal is to protect corporate interest and the price we pay is evident when we look at the rising numbers of childhood disorders that didnt exist in earlier generations. Just when you think it cant get any worse you read an article like this and it shows you that these ruthless individuals will stop at nothing to keep us overweight, overmedicated and on the hamster wheel. School lunch is as toxic as it gets. In our national school lunch program , PIZZA is considered a VEGETABLE because of the tomato paste and french fries because they come from POTATOES!! OUTRAGEOUS and CRIMINAL!! Yes they have a salad bar but what child would choose cucumbers over french fries and carrots over pizza? In any other country this would be considered child abuse. The best gift you can give your child is a lunch box packed with real food! Our children deserve better than a lunch that is nutritionally bankrupt. Nutrition is the foundation for education. Forget common core, lets use some common sense and fight for real food in school. This article below is the worst case scenario and will ultimately lead to my son being home schooled.
