It is not a matter of choice; every parent has a DUTY to equip their children with variety of tools not just a hammer, in order to deal with variety of lifes situations. Every parent needs to teach their children how to build bridges, heal wounds not leave them in their natural destructive mode which offers everyone the ability to open up wounds and destroy. Keep in mind that, in order to build...in order to heal wounds and in order to resolve conflicts teaching and learning must occur. Whereas it takes an event to start a conflict, open up wounds and create trouble; it takes a skilled and determined process to resolve a conflict, heal the wounds and build bridges hence, teaching and learning are required. The teaching and learning cannot happen by default or accident. It must be a deliberate act. If a parent fails to do these, they have left their children with only hammers to open up wounds and create conflicts that come naturally without teaching and learning hence, anyone can do these by choice without even thinking. However, let it be known that, no one (including the parent that fails in their duty) is immune to the dire consequences that follows a child equipped with only hammer. Parents! A lot depends on YOU!
