It is not the new believers who want to be coached and placated - TopicsExpress

It is not the new believers who want to be coached and placated and told how wonderful and sweet and special they are, it is the ones who have become lax and puffed up in knowledge. A new believer is like a person with an abscess under a tooth and just wants it out. If you try to apply a little salve that will lessen the pain in about 15 minutes he will tell you to forget the salve and get the tooth out it is killing him. The Lord keeps me on a very tight rope and when I start to grow slack He ropes me in quickly and I would have it no other way. Have you ever seen a rope walker? If that robe is not pulled absolutely tight and kept straight he will fall off immediately. The Holy Spirit reminds me of the truth and takes me deeper into the truth all the time. It is not about me and what I like and how I feel, it is all about Him. Yet He never forgets about me and makes my load light and easy to bear and His loving hand is ever there to straighten and correct me. I know that even the sparrow will not fall without Him knowing and that I am worth more to Him than that sparrow but I want to walk as close as possible to Him and am willing to obey each and every word from Him. Nothing is more important than being pleasing to Jesus.
