It is often chilling to see the news, and realize that there are arrayed against the forces of secular science, health, equal rights, and sanity so many antagonists - not just lonely anti-vaxxers and climate change denialists, but entire lobbies and organizations devoted to the promotion of their brand of religiosity over all others, the yoking of government to disproven ideas, the dismissal of legislation and dismantling of entities designed only to protect the rights and health of people and the care of the environment; civil leaders and elected officials who display shocking ignorance, personal hypocrisy in the refusing to abide by the values they preach, and corruption to the howling mob and wealthy. It is a fearsome array of foes...and yet, and yet, and yet they have lost so much ground, they have been losing so many contests against reality and liberality and science, they are losing, and most importantly they must continue to lose.
