Allah loves those who repent to him and purify themselves. Allah loves those who are patient. Allah loves those who are just. Allah loves those who put their trust in him, Allah loves those who fight for his cause in ranks. All these actions were part of the character of the prophet Muhammad (saw). Hence Allah states in a comprehensive ayah that the way to earn his love is to follow the prophet (saw); Say (Oh Muhammad, to mankind); if you really love Allah,then follow me, Allah will love you... (Quran 3;31).
