It is time for a bold vision for this city, one that invests substantial funds in the organizations that are building equity and community through the arts. I challenge this Council to enact a budget of a minimum of $20 million dollars for the coming year for the Commission and to seek ways to ensure its regular funding so that the organizations whose visionary and creative work is so crucial to the District’s health and vibrancy can in turn count on steady funding. - Split This Rock Exec Dir Sarah Browning testifying at DC City Council budget hearing.
