It is with a heavy heart that I drove home from work Friday after - TopicsExpress

It is with a heavy heart that I drove home from work Friday after I closed the hospital for the last time. Ive been with Banfield Pet Hospital 4.5 years, its been the most challenging, but most rewarding 4.5 years of my career. I love that company and I love the people that I truly feel blessed to have worked with both within the hospital and at Petsmart. I would rather remain private about my reasons for leaving, but I want to be clear that it is not the company. I LOVE Banfield and am very sad to leave. Whats next? ME! I am going to spend the next year focusing on me, bettering myself, making myself stronger physically, mentally. Health concerns will be my first focus. We are also preparing to move out of southern California within the next 1.5-2 years so theres a lot of work ahead of us. Below I will be doing some shout outs and special thanks and I included just some of the many photos I have from the last 4.5 years. They include grand openings, presentations, pets I worked with, late nights out after work working on work lol. Feel free to keep reading if you would like to hear some funny stories about the people I worked closest with. Thank you to all the wonderful teams I have worked with over the years. Ive been in over 14 hospitals in 4.5 years, opening hospitals, helping with training and other projects. I have met some amazing people (ya youre tagged on here!) and this is just a small handful. You truly have made this experience great for me. Thank you to all my Petsmart friends that helped out whenever they could. Zach youre a great trainer! Jennifer best groomer! Special thanks to Poet and Vanessa for always trying to take my drop at the end of the night right away instead of making me wait 15 minutes. After a long day I appreciate it! More importantly I appreciate when you guys made me laugh or smile. Thank you Tom Canas for pushing me - the opportunities I had were because of you. Many associates dream of having those special projects you sent me out on. I remember clearly times you would tell me your vision for something and then expect I could magically make it happen and I would freak out (on the inside) cause I never wanted you to see me freaking out - thats not professional lol. We may not have always seen eye to eye - but the end results were almost always fabulous! You truly helped shape me into a stronger person and showed me what Im capable of. Thank you Tom. Janice Brennan we made it through!! We are still friends! I will never forget 2 things, when I first found out I was going to be working under my best friend, my heart dropped. Working with friends and family so closely day in and day out is a real test. Secondly, I remember our first big fight in the middle of the treatment room at La Cienaga. We had been at each others throats for weeks (cause Im not good at taking orders...sorry bout that) and we just started having it out in the treatment area. Thankfully only one person walked in and that was hilariously awkward. Thank you for your patience, leadership and constant determination to get the job done when we ran into roadblocks (which were frequently). Thank you friend. Rose Oloughlin I gotta give a special shout out to my special projects partner of almost 2 years. Best memory .... I want to say the night we were driving back from Palm Deserts hospital and it was snowing in Banning so we stopped and played in the snow. BUT hands down it has to be when you were pregnant and we were headed out to a hospital in LA and we were driving in the carpool stuck in traffic and you tell me your nauseated. I was like DONT throw up in my car! Dont do it rose! We got you to a gas station you did your thing and then I locked you out of my car until you could convince me you wouldnt throw up in my car. You were standing outside my car, I was in my car - doors locked, windows up and you were like Really Mariah? You just gonna leave a pregnant lady out here? I cant help the morning sickness. So funny. Im really going to miss working with you.
