It is with a heavy heart that I pass on the very, very sad news that John Galvin has passed away. John was one of the stalwarts of the motorcycle industry and a finer, more honest man you would not meet. Always smiling and ready for a laugh, John was a true character of the local industry. He had been in and out of good health for a number of years. Sadly, it has caught up with him Father of multi-Australian 125cc Champion and GP point-scorer, Peter Galvin, I had the pleasure of getting to know the entire family when Galvo raced on the world stage in the early 90s and had many good times with them. He was a true legend of the trade and assisted many in their endeavours to go racing and riding - including me For many years (apart from other interests) he was the Belstaff importer as well as Metzeler tyres, a business that the young Galvins have maintained A fine man that will be sadly missed by many. My very sincere sympathies to Peter and Patrick and the rest of the Galvo clan. R.I.P John. Ride well on the highway of the sky.
