It is with a very heavy heart that I announce the passing of my mom, Jennifer Hemmer, today. As I held her hand and told her she should let go, I saw peace replace the pain and suffering she’s worn on her face for the last few weeks. I am so very grateful to have been there for her, and wracked with pain and sadness at having lost her. I pray the doctors find the cause of her passing at such a young age. Losing both parents unexpectedly and without a diagnosis at such a young age would be a tragedy, indeed. Had she been born of any less courage or conviction, I may not be here today. She turned 18 years old a mere 5 months before I was born. Mom, I will miss you forever. I love you.
