It is with a very heavy heart to write this, but we desperately need your help in finding Dexter a loving home. There comes a time when being a responsible dog owner means giving up your dog. We rescued Dexter our beloved Pitt Bull in Puerto Rico Oct of 2011. We lived in a rural area with a large acre fenced in lot (However he prefers to be in doors) and no children running in and out of the house other than our own daughter. We now live in FL with a small yard and MANY small children running in and out of our home. Dexter is wonderful with people and kids but is very aggressive towards other dogs outside his pack. We have to be so careful he doesnt get out of the back yard or slip out of the front doors. We can no longer walk or run him due to people not keeping their dogs on leashes and i am unable to hold him if another dog is near by. We are not able to take him camping or on trips because camp grounds do not allow vicious dogs and hes just impossible when another dog is near by. He is a good dog and needs someone that can handle him and is home most of the time. He loves car rides and boat rides although he doesnt swim well. He loves to cuddle, sleep in the bed, and take your favorite chair when youre not looking. He likes to steal food from counter and break into the trash, yet makes us laugh everyday with his handsome looks, charm and silliness. We have too many kids running in and out of our home and i cant imagine something happening to one of our neighbors dogs and he has become a huge liability and its not fair to Dexter or to us. Basically we cannot take him anywhere with out major hassle and boarding him makes him crazy. Please help us find Dexter a forever home. Anyone that has met Dexter has loved him. He is up to date on vaccines and house broken. Please hold your comments if they are negative, we have truly tried everything to make this work. But both Dexter and our family our being held back from living life to the fullest. I know there is a perfect match. Please help.
