It is with great pleasure that I announce that I have accepted the saxophone instructor position at Waco High School. After 11 years of playing, having the opportunity to pay forward the knowledge Ive accrued onto a younger generation of saxophonists is both thrilling and humbling. Not too long ago, I was a wide-eyed sixth grader that knew nothing except how to produce a sound. Now I sit at the other end of the metaphorical table, playing the role as “teacher” – a new feeling for me – and looking forward to the new experience it will bring. To me, this underscores how remarkable it is that, if given proper time, all things have the capacity for drastic change. The implications of that statement are massive, for the nature of life is impermanent. A special thank you goes out to those who have supported me, and to all the fantastic educators (you know who you are) whose guidance has been instrumental to my development as a musician and person.
