It is with great sadness that I share that my beloved (step)mother, Marty, passed away on Thursday after a long battle with cancer. The term stepmom is inadequate because it fails to convey how truly special she has been to me and profoundly influential in my life. She was everything to me and I am devastated by this loss. I am comforted in knowing that she is no longer suffering. I am blessed and grateful that she chose to be my mom and I had 29 amazing years with her.
