It just dawned on me that 25 years (and twice that many pounds) ago this month, my work as host/co-producer of Miami University Televisions Progressive Visions started. The 1-hr weekly alt-rock video show aired locally and on Cincinnati-area cable (and later led to my own national TV show Left of the Dial: bit.ly/1mZ9V3Q). My senior year, in discussions with MTV for a VJ gig I cut this demo reel and, looking back now, its no surprise I didnt get the job. And Im sure I had an audience that numbered in the tens. Still, free concerts and interviewing bands like Nine Inch Nails was possibly the coolest thing in the world for an 18 year-old. I know Im going to get skewered for posting this, so let the burns begin.
