It makes me so sad to see negative comments about Christmas. People complaining because a Christmas movie is on too early or they already heard a Christmas song on the radio.... Christmas to me is the greatest time of the year. I love the decorations, the music, and the movies. I love the day that we go to cut our Christmas tree, the day that we put the lights on the house, the day that we go to my moms as a family and all decorate her tree. The first time I see egg nog in the store, when I see the city crews starting to put the lights up on the streets, the Christmas Stroll in Sheridan. I could go on and on! To me it is a magical time of year, full of joy and love. Celebrating the birth of Jesus, candlelight service at the church, participating in Operation Christmas Child, helping a needy family on the tree of hope! Listening to the excitement in the voice of a child! I love the Macys parade and the lighting of the Christmas tree at Rockafeller Center! Making Christmas dinner and sharing it with my family. I love shopping for the perfect gift and wrapping them in beautiful paper and ribbons. Someday I would even like to own my own Christmas store! This year I am trying to restrain myself as I live with the three Scrooges. There are only 28 more days until the big day and then it will be all over. I am trying to soak it all in. I hope that you too can appreciate the joy of the season and maybe go out and help a needy family and not get wrapped up in the commercialization of the holiday. If we all get back to the true meaning of the day we will all be able to enjoy it more, trust me!
