It seems as early as the first grade school crush we define too - TopicsExpress

It seems as early as the first grade school crush we define too much of our worth and sense of self (Im loved by someone that I and my peers respect and value) therefore Im loved and valuable. Problem is, people are fickle and flawed (since the fall). Selfishness motivates so much of what most us do. It is better if our foundation of self-worth comes from the One who made us, we are created in His image. And if by His grace we were chosen by Him before the foundation of the world to be His beloved children then we can know we are valued and will be loved now and forevermore. Our Father in heaven gave what He valued most (the life of His dear Son) to bring us back into a relationship with Him and call us His beloved.
