It seems that in the modern era – regardless of what impact you have on the world – there is some question whether you actually exist if you are not on social media like Facebook and LinkedIn. Well, I do exist – and my new presence on Facebook and LinkedIn proves it! So, I am starting my Facebook presence today. Read as you like, forward and invite others who you think might be interested. I am still trying to understand Facebook, so any help would be appreciated. Visit my LinkedIn site at linkedin/in/randallpencewashingtonlobbyist. Most of my professional career, my service in the U.S. Senate, my lobbying firm Capitol Hill Advocates, Inc. and more, are located on that site. I will have some of that material here, but I understand that Facebook is weighted toward life away from work, so I will include more personal info here, and some photos. I do look forward to re-connecting with folks from my past lives as well as current. I welcome you to connect with me even if we haven’t connected in years, even decades – and even if we knew each other tangentially. That is the real value I see in Facebook. I have been so involved with my career that I have let some of the older personal connections atrophy, and I deeply regret that. I have tried to address that issue by attending reunions and so forth, and I will continue. I look forward to hearing from you. Speaking of which, I have always been concerned about identify theft issues on social media, which is why I have waited this long. You will see that I have deliberately omitted some personal data, and certain dates and so forth. I hope that these key omissions will make it hard for some bad guy in the former Eastern Bloc become me to obtain credit cards and such. But for those people who have known me, these omissions will not matter. And I deliberately gave a birthdate that is very close, but not quite accurate. Take that, former Eastern Bloc guy.
